  • Start Menu 7 – A neat and expandable replacement for the standard Windows 7 Start Menu with lots more options and more powerful search feature. There’s also a pro version with even more, definitely one for menu geeks.
  • 20:20:20 rule for 20:20 vision – If you're using a computer all day, take a 20 second break every 20 minutes and look at objects 20 feet away, should reduce eyestrain and tiredness and help you maintain 20:20 vision…
  • How to shop at online U.S. stores from anywhere in the world – Amit Agarwal walks you through the various hacks to let you shop online in the USA without being in the USA.
  • Software updating – R-Updater is a very useful tool to keep your installed programs up-to-date. Upon installation R-Updater creates a list of installed programs and checks on a pre-scheduled time if there are new program versions available. When it detects a new version, it notifies the user that it is time to update the program.
  • Court: Violating Terms of Service Is Not a Crime – A US court has ruled that breaking a website's so-called terms of service does not make you a criminal. At least some legal sense. How could their applying rules to how you use a website ever be enforceable. However, if you hack the site to get to resources to which you have no legitimate access, that will make you a criminal (possibly)
  • Access Pandora Radio outside of USA – I'm not sure of the legality of the IP Hider tool, and if you're in the UK who needs Pandora when you've got Spotify, but if it opens up freedom of speech and puts pressure on the music industry to make more accessible easily to all listeners wherever they are then more power to it.
  • Tool blunts threat from Windows shortcut flaw – Microsoft has released a stopgap fix to help Windows users protect themselves against threats that may try to target a newly discovered, critical security hole that is present in every supported version of Windows.
