What are zombie cookies and how can you kill them? – Zombie cookies are Flash cookies that are resurrected unbeknownst to you when you're browsing the web. An Adobe site exists to delete them, but you can install a Firefox addon that will improve your privacy all round.
How 100 million Facebook users ended up in a list on BitTorrent – A fifth of all Facebook users have their details leaked in Ron Bowes' 100 megabyte database, now on the bit torrent networks.
Zombie cookies – A legal challenge has been launched in the US against a number of websites amid claims that they were engaged in "covert surveillance" of users. Did you really crumble that cookie or is their a trail of crumbs?
Google webmaster tools now displays all backlink data for your website – If you log into your Webmaster Tools account now, under the “Site Analysis” and “Links to your site” section you’ll find the complete backlink data for your website. Yet another procrastination tool for stat geeks to help them avoid doing any proper work.
Microsoft Street Slide: Street view will never be the same – Bing Streetside now has an overlay function that allows you to overlay your flickr photos on to favourite locations. Limited number of cities so far but presumably expanding to a town near you some time soon.
Microsoft releases free security tool for older platforms – Microsoft has released a free tool to bring newer security protections to older platforms and applications (XP and Windows Server 2003, in other words)
