The law intended to protect copyright holders has many critics who suggest it will do nothing but stifle creativity and civil rights.

- UK rejects ACTA calls to criminalize illicit file-sharing – The UK will not criminalize file sharing despite ACTA and the Digital Economy Act forced through by the last government.
- Top apps ignore Windows built in security protection – Many applications, such as Picasa, Foxit, and iTunes fail to utilise the inbuilt security systems of the Windows operating system that would otherwise keep many hackers and crackers at bay.

| Blogging immortality and the ageing process Posted: 13 Jul 2010 10:10 AM PDT  I once wrote about how to achieve blogging immortality and how many of us were stuck in a time-warp thanks to our avatars, gravatars and miscellaneous photos we use as identicons on social media sites and our blogs.
Well, today I picked up my first pair of prescription reading glasses (which I only marginally need to be honest but are making my head swim as I type this) and thought it was probably time to give everyone a laugh. So my Dorian Gray image that adorns my Twitter page, my Facebook page, my gravatar and blog ident are all migrating to the new look me. In essence, the blog elixir has worn off and I suddenly got old and grumpy. Well, I was always grumpy…but I will try and smile for the next photo change in another few years.
